NOW BOOKING GENERAL REPAIR AND RHODE ISLAND HEAVY DUTY TRUCK INSPECTIONS !
In Rhode Island, heavy duty trucks and vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 8,500 lbs must pass a safety inspection every 12 months.
The inspection must be completed before the end of the month on the vehicle’s current inspection sticker.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A HEAVY DUTY TRUCK INSPECTION
Walk-Around Inspection
Walk-around inspection of the windows, side mirrors, steps, lights, doors, reflectors, and license plate
Brake System
Inspection of the brake system, including the parking brake, brake pads, fluid, and hose
Engine Compartment
Inspection of the engine compartment, including engine components, oil levels, heating, and cooling systems
Lights and Signals
Inspection of the lights and signals, including headlights, high beams, brake lights, hazard, and turn signals
FAILING AN INSPECTION
If a vehicle fails an inspection for any reason, the owner has 30 days to return to the same station for a free retest.
